Kamitani Shrine Autumn Festival
Marvel at the proceedings of the Ujigami Autumn festival in Kumihama!
The Kamitani Shrine Autumn festival in Kumihama takes place every October and is held to thank the gods for a plentiful harvest.
This festival not only celebrates harvest and gives thanks, but it also shows the strength of the locals. The Autumn Festival Young Person’s association will lead the festivities with an offering to the gods and a procession through the town.
The main event of the festival is the procession where the local men gather their strength and carry a large Taikodai (Taiko drum float) through the streets.
