This program explores Ukawa in Tango-cho, an area rich with nature where the sea meets the mountains.
Savor meals made with fresh ingredients from the sea and mountains that have been loved by long-living locals for decades. Walk the streets of the nostalgic local fishing village. And, after your adventures, rejuvenate your body and skin in the hot spring.
This program allows you to heal your body and mind and be mindful of your health while surrounded by nature.
Following the orientation and health check (health sheet and blood pressure check), a summary of the program schedule will be given.
After a warm up exercise to loosen the body, you will walk with your local guide through the retro fishing village, taking in the beautiful coastline of the Geopark. Refresh your body and mind with the picturesque scenery.
Lunch consists of a healthy, nutrition-balanced bento box made with local ingredients.
The Onsen is a hypotonic alkaline hot spring containing sodium-sulfate, sodium-bicarbonate, and sodium-chloride.
Known for its skin beautifying properties and ability to soothe chronic joint and muscle pains, this hot spring will melt away your fatigue from walking.
Ukawa Onsen Yoshino no Sato
Soak in the hot spring and marvel at the deep blue of the Sea of Japan and the setting sun as it sinks below the horizon.
This mountain hot spring is nestled in between bamboo groves and surrounded by the sounds of nature.
The male and female baths swap locations every day and there is a restaurant on site so it is perfect for a long retreat.
The farmers’ shop at Yoshino no Sato is filled with fresh fruits and vegetables and goods prepared by local farmers. There are all sorts of items on sale from marine products only found in this seaside town to curated products from all over the country.
