MOYAKO Suishohama Beach Clean
Sunday 18th May
MOYAKO Suishohama Beach Clean
Get involved and keep the local beaches clean!
This Beach Clean takes place at Suishohama Beach, also known as “Crystal Beach” due to its high level of crystal quartz.
Why Suishohama?
Large amounts of marine debris and trash wash up on Suishohama Beach throughout the year and because vehicles cannot get close to the seafront, it is difficult to collect trash from there. Of course, this is not a unique case with marine debris becoming a global environmental issue, but every Beach Clean helps.
Due to the lack of road access, the trash collected in the beach clean is passed along a 400m route using buckets from Suishohama Beach to nearby Kobama Beach.
This year, the first 300 participants will receive a 2025 MOYAKO original T-shirt as a souvenir.
What is MOYAKO?
MOYAKO comes from a Japanese dialect phrase meaning “together” and “share” and is based on the idea that we should work together to combat the marine environmental problems and keep the ocean clean for the generations to come.
This is where the beach clean comes in, as a way for everyone to gather and take pride in working towards this cause.
