Kyotango Guided Walk (Tateiwa)

Learn about the geographical history of the area

On this walking tour we will introduce you to Tateiwa (standing rock), a natural rock formation. It formed 15 million years ago when the Japanese islands broke away from the continent of mainland Asia. We will also walk along the Onaru Burial Mounds, where ancient stone tombs can be found on a plateau overlooking Tateiwa. Then we will visit Takano Jinja Shrine, it is rich in history and tradition.
