Midono Garasha Waterfall

ABOUT
THIS
SPOT

This 50-60 meter tall waterfall is located in Midono, Yasaka, where Hosokawa Gracia (or Garasha, 1563-1600 CE) was sent to be in hiding.

She was sent to hide in the mountains of Midono after her father, general Akechi Mitsuihide, betrayed, trapped and killed his lord Oda Nobunaga one of the leaders of Japan from the mid 1500s to his death in 1,582 CE.

In 2019, an observation desk was built where you can watch the waterfall.

It is a great photo spot in the spring and autumn when the leaves on the surrounding trees are at their best.
