ABOUT
THIS
SPOT

The Tango Ancient Village Museum is home to artifacts that were excavated within Kyotango City, showcasing a variety of stone tools, earthenware and jade objects from the Jomon Period (approx. 14,000-300 BCE) to the Middle Ages (1185-1603 CE).

The museum focuses on introducing the history of the Tango Kingdom, from its establishment to its end.

Alongside the permanent exhibitions, there are all sorts of special limited time exhibitions held regularly.

There is even a restoration of an ancient village from the Yayoi Period (300 BCE-300 CE) outside the building which is set up so you can experience ancient Tango first hand.
