Kotohikihama Kakezu Beach

Kotohikihama, Kakezu Beach is a famous beach located in Amino. Most known for its “Singing Sand,” and is often included in the top 100 lists of tourist destinations. Kotohikihama was also designated by the Japanese government as a Natural Monument, and became the first smoke-free beach in the world. The locals of this area are particularly enthusiastic with environmental protection.

There is also camping available on the beach.

Along the beach, there is an open-air bath with Gensen-Kakenagashi, water flowing directly from the hot spring source. Visitors can bathe in the waters from July to the end of August, while wearing swimming suits, and from April 21st to July and September to  November you can use the waters as a foot bath.

There are many minshuku guest houses in the Kotohikihama area, and you can reach the shore from these lodges in a few minutes by foot.

The water quality of this beach has been rated AA, meaning it is of exceptionally good quality.
