Mt. Kabutoyama Observation Deck

From the top of Mt. Kabutoyama, this observation deck offers a magnificent view over Kumihama Bay, to Shotenkyo, and the Sea of Japan. Looking the other way gives you a birds-eye-view of the town of Kumihama. There is also the Kumano Shrine at the top dedicated to Kawakamino Masuno Iratsume.

It’s about a 30-minute walk from the Mt. Kabutoyama Park to the platform. Make sure you take some water with you as the steep at points make it quite challenging, and there is no vending machine at the top.
