Hanareko is known as the largest lake in Kyoto Prefecture.
From late March, the cherry blossoms reach their peak, and approximately 500 Somei-Yoshino trees and wild cherry trees planted around the lake burst into bloom.
At night, lanterns are lit, allowing you to enjoy the magical sight of Hanareko’s nighttime cherry blossoms.

On the mountain, you’ll find the Hanareko and the Hanayama burial mounds; we recommend taking a stroll there while waiting for the illumination to begin.
