The Sea of Kyoto area is currently home to 12 sake breweries, making it a hidden treasure trove of local sake known only to connoisseurs.
Northern Kyoto receives abundant rainfall, making it a region where high-quality, plentiful water and delicious rice are harvested.
This is precisely why so many sake breweries have existed here since ancient times, and even today, 12 breweries continue to craft sake that showcases their unique personalities.
“tantan kura around in Umi no Kyoto” is a simultaneous brewery open house event in the Tango region, organized by the sake brewers themselves.
This year, 10 of the 12 breweries are participating.
With each brewery serving as a venue, we’ve planned creative events—including tours of areas normally off-limits to the public and local food booths—and we look forward to welcoming you.
